Bharat NCX
National Security Council Secretariat to organise the 2nd edition of ‘Bharat NCX’ for Government organisations, Public and Private sector to strengthen India’s cyber posture.
- India’s National Cyber Security Exercise.
- Aim – To train senior management and technical personnel of Government/Critical Sector organisations, Public and Private agencies on contemporary cyber threats and handling cyber incidents and response.
- Conducted by – National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) in partnership with Rastriya Raksha University (RRU).
- Training areas – Intrusion Detection Techniques, Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP), Vulnerability Handling & Penetration Testing, Network Protocols & Data Flows, Digital Forensics etc.
Udangudi ‘Panangkarupatti’
Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi district’s Udangudi ‘Panangkarupatti’ has been given a Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
- Panangkarupatti is made from the palm sap collected from the inflorescence of palmyra trees that grow on the red sand dunes in the region.
- It is made using traditional methods and without any chemical additives.
- Feature – Dry climatic conditions and low groundwater holding characteristic of red sand dune soil lead to high sucrose content in Panangkarupatti and support its longer storage.
Operation Iron Swords
Operation Iron Swords launched by Israel.
- Operation Iron Swords has been launched by Israel Defence Forces in response to an attack on Israel by the Hamas militant group.
- Hamas – A Palestinian Islamist militant organisation

Third Intifada
The recent escalation in the Hamas-Israel conflict has raised concerns about a Third Intifada.
- Intifada means ‘shake off’ in Arabic
- It was used to describe the Palestinian uprising against Israeli presence in the West Bank and Gaza.
- 1st Intifada lasted from 1987 to 1993, and 2nd Intifada from 2000-2005.
Wagh Nakh
Maharashtra’s Cultural Affairs Ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to bring back Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legendary “Wagh Nakh” a formidable medieval weapon to the state.
- Wagh Nakh – literally translating to ‘tiger claws’, a unique medieval dagger used across the Indian subcontinent.
- A weapon with curved blades on a glove or bar, were made for personal defense and stealth attacks, easily cutting through skin and flesh.
- Chhatrapati Shivaji used against Afzal Khan, a Bijapur general.
