  • Extends – Teerathagarh waterfalls (west) to the Kolab river (east, Odisha state boundary).

  • Part of Deccan Bio-geographical Zone
  • Important Geological structures ofStalagmites and Stalactites
    • Kutumbasar caves
    • Kailash cave
    • Dandak cave
    • Underground Limestone caves
  • Land formations – from low flat and gentle areas to steep slopes, plateaus, valleys, and stream courses.
  • Forest type – mixed humid deciduous forest
  • Elongated mineral formations that grow from the floor and ceiling of caves
  • Formed from slowly dripping water that picks up carbon dioxide gas as it passes through organic material
  • Stalactites – hang like icicles from the ceiling or sides of a cavern
  • Stalagmites – appear like inverted stalactites, rising from the floor of a cavern
