The Delhi High Court has passed an order protecting the personality rights, and publicity rights of the founder of Isha Foundation.

  • Definition: Personality rights protect an individual’s name, image, voice, and other personal attributes from unauthorized commercial use.
  • Legal Basis: In India, personality rights are linked to Article 21 (Right to Privacy) and are often enforced through copyright, trademark, and passing off laws.
  • Celebrity Protection: Public figures and celebrities have stronger personality rights due to their commercial value, preventing misuse in advertisements and endorsements.
  • Challenges: The absence of a specific legal framework leads to disputes over unauthorized use, especially in digital media and advertising.

Mock drills were conducted in States and Union territories adjoining the western border under ‘Operation Shield’.

Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization said that there is no reason to fear COVID-19 due to the immunity people have acquired over the last few years

  • Definition: Acquired immunity is developed after exposure to pathogens or through vaccination, unlike innate immunity which is present from birth.
  • Types:
    • Active Immunity: Developed after infection or vaccination.
    • Passive Immunity: Received through maternal antibodies or antibody injections.
  • Mechanism: The immune system remembers pathogens, producing specific antibodies for future defense.
  • Importance: Essential for long-term disease resistance, forming the basis of vaccination programs worldwide.

Under Operation Spider Web, Ukraine carried out its most devastating drone strike of the war.

  • Purpose: A civil defense mock drill conducted in border states and Union Territories of India to prepare for external threats.
