‘Pratibimb’ Module:
- A Geographic Information System (GIS)-based software designed for cybercrime tracking.
- GIS – A technology that captures, stores, analyses, and visualizes geographic data to map and monitor spatial information.
- Developed by – Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
- Features –
- Projects mobile numbers used in cybercrimes across India onto a GIS map.
- Provides map-based visualization to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and service providers.
- Helps in identifying and tracking locations of mobile numbers involved in criminal activities.
Other related initiatives:
- ‘Samanvaya’ Platform – A coordination platform launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate cybercrime data sharing and analysis between States/UTs
- National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (Investigation) – Set up under the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi.
- Aids State/UT Police Investigating Officers (IOs) in cybercrime investigations.
- Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) – Created under the Ministry of Home Affairs to address cybercrime in a unified and comprehensive way.
- Serves as the nodal agency for tackling cybercrimes nationwide.
