Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment launched the issuance of sports certificates via DigiLocker at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi.
DigiLocker:
- A secure cloud-based platform launched in 2015 under the Digital India Programme.
- A flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY).
- Provides citizens with access to authentic digital documents, eliminating the need for physical copies.
- Documents stored in DigiLocker are legally valid as per the IT Rules, 2016.
- Key Features –
- Digital Document Wallet – Stores government-issued certificates like Aadhaar, PAN, driving license, and educational records.
- Integration with Government Services – Linked with CBSE, UIDAI, RTOs, and other agencies.
- E-Signature Facility – Allows users to digitally sign documents.
- Mobile & Web Accessibility – Available via app and website for convenience
- Documents stored in DigiLocker are legally equivalent to physical copies.
- Government departments issue digital certificates directly to users.

- Integration with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for health records storage.
- Issuance of sports certificates via DigiLocker, linked to the National Sports Repository System (NSRS)
