- Aim – To promote socially & environmentally sustainable towns and cities, ensuring adequate shelter for all.
- Initiative – New Urban Agenda, which seeks to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, & sustainable.
- C40 – A global network of nearly 100 mayors of world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront climate crisis

- An intermediate port where ships customarily stop for supplies, repairs, or transshipment of cargo.
- Examples – Aden, Honolulu and Singapore, etc.
Solar Coronal Holes
A new study estimates the magnetic field structures of solar coronal holes.
- Coronal holes appear as dark areas in the solar corona
- Cooler, less dense regions than the surrounding plasma.
- Has open, unipolar magnetic fields allowing high-speed solar wind to escape into space.
- Can develop at any time and location on the Sun
No Money for Terror Conference
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs participated in the 4th No Money for Terror (NMFT) Conference in Germany.
- Launched in – 2018 by France.
- Aim – to enhance international cooperation in curbing terror financing.
- Similar Conferences – Financial Action Task Force (FATF); UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT)
- In the recent conference, India reiterated its proposal for a permanent NMFT Secretariat at New Delhi.
Lake Chad
World Bank promotes inclusive connectivity in Lake Chad region.
- Situated in the Sahel region of Africa
- Bordered by – Chad, Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroon.
- A shallow, endorheic lake, meaning it has no outflow.
- Its size has drastically reduced over the past few decades due to climate change.
