Mirza Ghalib
A 3-day event titled ‘Remembering Ghalib’ was organized by the Sahitya Kala Parishad in Delhi, to mark the birth anniversary of renowned poet Mirza Ghalib.
- A legendary Urdu and Persian poet
- In 1850, Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar II awarded him the titles Dabir-ul-Mulk and Najm-ud-Daula.
- He was appointed royal tutor for poetry and historian.
- After Ghalib’s death in 1869, he was buried near the tomb of Nizamuddin Auliya, a famous sufi saint of the Chishti Order, in Hazrat Nizamuddin.

Scientists warn of ‘unprecedented’ risks of research into mirror life
- Synthetic bacteria whose building blocks are enantiomers of their natural counterparts.
- Enantiomer – One of two chemically identical molecular species that are non-superposable mirror images of each other.
- Threats posed by Mirror Bacteria –
- Could bypass human immune responses.
- Might disrupt ecosystems by competing with native microbes.
- Potential for misuse in biological warfare

- A doctrine which suggests that all issues arising in the litigation out of the same subject matter must be addressed in a single suit.
- Propounded in the English case of Henderson vs Henderson,1843.
Santa Ana Winds
Recent wildfires from California have been attributed to “Santa Ana” winds.
- Winds that blow due to the pressure difference between Great Basin — the area between the Rocky Mountains and Sierra Nevada in USA (high pressure) and California’s coast (low pressure).
