South Korean author Han Kang gets Nobel Prize in Literature.

  • An international award administered by Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden
  • Established by – Alfred Nobel in 1895.
  • 6 Categories – Peace, Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Economic Science.
  • Statutes of Nobel Foundation stipulate that prize cannot be awarded posthumously, unless death has occurred after announcement of Nobel Prize.

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare celebrated 2 years of Tele MANAS.

  • Objective – Provide universal access to affordable, quality mental health care through 24/7 tele-mental health services
  • Part of – National Mental Health Programme
  • Operate as a 2-tier system –
    • Tier 1 – State Tele MANAS cells with trained counselors and mental health specialists.
    • Tier 2 – Specialists from District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) or medical colleges

Taiwan claimed that China’s military is employing an ‘anaconda strategy’ towards the island.

  • A military strategy aiming to suffocate the rival economically and militarily, similar to how an anaconda snake coils around its prey.
  • Its goal is to force the rival into submission without engaging in a full-scale invasion.
  • China’s ‘anaconda strategy’ against Taiwan involves a mix of military manoeuvres, psychological tactics, and cyber warfare.
