- Signed at – Yaoundé conference
- Co-hosted by – World Health Organization (WHO) & Cameroon.
- Signed by – 11 African nations that account for the majority of global malaria infections and fatalities
- Based on – WHO approach of “High burden to high impact”
Colour Chemicals
Karnataka has banned the use of some colour chemicals
- Known Colour Chemicals – Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow, Carmoisine and Rhodamine B
- Used in – Textile dyeing and the paper industry
- Impacts on health –
- Can cause allergic or pseudo-allergic reaction
- Can cause skin rashes and respiratory allergies
- Some of the chemicals are carcinogenic in nature.
Vajra sentinel system
Defence Ministry signs ₹200 crore contract for Vajra sentinel system
- Vajra sentinel system – An anti- drone system designed to detect, track, and neutralize drones at extraordinary ranges.
- Developed under – Indian Defence Exhibition (iDEX) initiative
- Features –
- Offers soft kills by jamming and hard kills by interceptor drones
- Operational range of 10 km and a hard-kill reach of 5-6 km.
