ANEEL (Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life)
An American company has developed a fuel ANEEL (named after India’s scientist, Dr Anil Kakodkar).
- A mix Thorium and Uranium of HALEU (High Assay Low Enriched Uranium).
- HALEU – An enrichment level of 5-20%.
- Benefits – Used in the existing Pressurized Heavy-Water Reactors (PHWRs) of India’s nuclear fleet, Reduces nuclear waste etc.

Drone, Detect, Deter and Destroy (D4 System)
Indigenously developed anti-drone system that was inducted into the Indian Armed Forces.
- Developed by – Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)
- Detect, track and identify rouge drones within 4 km range
- Instantly detect and jam micro drones (Soft kill)
- Use a laser-based kill mechanism to terminate targets (Hard kill).
- Uses Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) to detect the frequency.

A recent study suggests that the sisal leaves could make sanitary napkins more sustainable in India.

- Sisal fibre – most important of the leaf fibre group.
- Used to make twine, cloth, carpets and mescal (a distilled alcoholic beverage).
