RBI introduced MuleHunter.
- An Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) based tool developed by the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH)
- Aim – To detect and prevent financial fraud through mule accounts.
- Functionality – It uses machine learning algorithms to analyse transaction data and account details, identifying mule accounts with greater precision and speed compared to traditional rule-based systems.
Ashtalakshmi Mahotsa
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav in New Delhi
- Celebrates the cultural, social, and economic contributions of Northeast India, highlighting the region’s significance as the ‘Ashtalakshmi’ or 8 forms of prosperity.
- Includes thematic exhibitions, state-specific pavilions, live demonstrations of traditional crafts, and cultural performances such as Assam’s Bihu dances and Nagaland’s war dances.
Anna Chakra
Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution launched the ‘Anna Chakra’
- A Public Distribution System (PDS) Supply Chain optimization tool that leverages advanced algorithms to identify optimal routes and ensure seamless movement of food grains.
- Developed by – Department of Food Public Distribution (DFPD) in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and IIT-Delhi.
- Integrated with the PM Gati Shakti platform and FOIS (Freight Operations Information System) portal of the Railways through the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP).
Copernicus Programme
The third Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite was recently launched on a Vega-C rocket from French Guiana.
- European Union’s Earth observation programme
- Coordinated by the European Commission in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), EU Member States and other EU Agencies.
- Provides free global monitoring across 6 areas – atmosphere, marine, land, climate, emergency response, and security.
- Significance – Considered as the largest Earth observation system globally with its 12 families of Sentinel satellites
