The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) warned users against charging mobile phones using public ports amidst the rising incidents of juice jacking.
- Juice jacking – It is a form of cyberattack where hackers load malware with public USB charging stations to maliciously access electronic devices.

- It can lock a device, export personal data and passwords to the cyber criminals.

BioTRIG
A new waste management technology that allows pyrolysis at a community to help rural Indians cut indoor air pollution, improve soil health, and generate clean power, introduced.
- BioTRIG – It is a community level pyrolysis system that runs on villagers’ waster.
- Significance –
- It can provide multiple benefits to the Below Poverty Level (BPL) rural communities.
- Aids usage of clean-burning bio-oil to replace dirty cooking fuels in homes and using bio char to store carbon, while improving soil fertility.
- Pyrolysis – Thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures (400-500 degree Celsius) in an inert atmosphere.

New species of marine slug named after President Droupadi Murmu
- Melanochlamys Droupadi – A new variety of marine slug molluscs that live primarily in marine habitats
- Recently discovered in – Wet and sandy beaches of Odisha and Bengal
- Sea slugs – Group of molluscs that live primarily in marine habitats and are slug-like.
- Features –
- They can be found from the shallow intertidal to the deep sea and from the polar regions to the tropics.
- Rapid hunters and feed upon mobile prey such as other shelled and unshelled sea slugs, roundworms, marine worms and small fishes
