1,300-year-old paintings at Talagirishwara temple are fading, as per reports.
- State – Tamil Nadu
- These mural paintings were created after covering stonewalls with a paste made of limestone and sand.
- These bear a close resemblance to paintings in Ajantha and Chithannavasal.
- Temple was constructed by – Pallava king Narasimhavarman II (Rajasimha)

Pichwai (pichvai) Painting
Chennai hosts an art exhibit showcasing Pichwai, some dating back 350 years.
- Origin – Nathdwara near Udaipur, Rajasthan.
- Meaning – ‘pichh’ meaning back, and ‘wai’, meaning textile hanging.
- Subjects – Lord Krishna’s life, Sharad Purnima, Raas Leela, Diwali and Holi
- Made by – Pushti Marg sect (founded by Shri Vallabhacharya in the 16th Century)
