Vajra Mushti Kalaga
Vajra Mushti Kalaga (a form of wrestling) held as part of Dasara at the Mysuru Palace recently.

- Weapon – ‘Vajramushti’ (knuckle-dusters adorned with diamonds)
- 1st mentioned – Manasollasa (manual of warfare of King Someshwara III of the Chalukya dynasty)
- Noticed by – Fernano Nuniz (a Portuguese traveller)
Gir indigenous cow breed
Only the Gir indigenous cow breed is being promoted under Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
- Origin – Gir forests, Gujarat
- Found in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
- Special Features –
- High milk yield and calm disposition.
- Ability to adapt to the entire central belt and northern and southern stretches.
- Other indigenous cattle breeds: Red Sindhi, Sahiwal, Hallikar etc.
