World Health Organisation study found a rapid rise of Ultra-processed food (UPF) sale in India in 10 yrs.

UPFs –

  • A category of food products that have undergone extensive processing.
  • Contains a significant amount of additives (preservatives, artificial flavours, colours, etc.)
  • Examples – Snacks, sodas, fast food items.
  • Effects of high intake of UPFs: Leads to obesity, digestive problems, inhibits type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular issues etc.

  • It is considered as an improvement over “No Language Left Behind”, a text-to-text machine translation AI model that supports over 200 languages.

A rare black eagle has been spotted for the first time in Chail wildlife sanctuary.

Chail wildlife sanctuary –

  • Location – Himachal Pradesh
  • Part of the catchment area of a tributary of the Giri River.
  • Flora: Oak, Pine and grassland.
  • Fauna: Wild boar, goral, sambar, spotted deer, Himalayan black bear, common langur, Indian porcupine, flying squirrel, etc.
