India gets its own car crash testing programme called Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP).

- Passenger vehicles with not more than 8 seats in addition to the driver’s seat.
- Gross vehicle weight not exceeding 3,500 kg
- 3 parameters — Adult occupant protection, Child occupant protection and Safety assist technologies
- Certified by – Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT)
