Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting
Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), organised a workshop on Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) in collaboration with UNICEF and National Stock Exchange.
- Launched by – SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) in 2021.
- Predecessor – Business Responsibility Report (BRR), launched in 2012, has evolved into BRSR.
- Aim – To encourage listed companies to adopt sustainable business practices and disclose information related to their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
- Features – It mandates the top 1,000 listed entities (by market capitalisation) to file BRSR as part of the Annual Report with SEBI.
- Principle – 9 principles as per ‘National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct’ (NGBRCs).
National E-Vidhan Application (NeVA)
President launched the ‘National e-Vidhan Application’ (NeVA) in Gujarat assembly.
- It is a Unicode-compliant software developed to make all legislative body work and data available online for usage by both citizens and Assembly members.
- It embodies the concept of ‘One Nation, One Application.’
- Funding: Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
- Technical support: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Data in Climate Resilient Agriculture (DiCRA)
UNDP and NABARD sign MoU to co-create data-driven innovations in agriculture.
- It is a collaborative digital public good that provides open access to key geospatial datasets pertinent to climate-resilient agriculture.
- It is curated by UNDP and partner organizations.
- Objective – To inform public investments in agriculture and promote food systems by enhancing support for smallholder farmers.
