Government is to inaugurate the NeVA for the Puducherry Legislative Assembly.

  • A Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA).
  • Aims to digitize and streamline legislative processes across 37 State/UT Legislatures.
  • Embodies the vision of ‘One Nation – One Application’ for paperless governance.
  • Key Features –
    • Hosted on NIC Cloud MeghRaj, ensuring secure, disaster-proof operations.
    • Provides e-Books for members, enabling e-Attendance, e-Voting, and digital proceedings.
    • Includes features like notices, bulletins, starred/unstarred questions, business lists, calendars, press releases, and live webcasting.
    • Allows ministers and members to access parliamentary work via mobile devices.
  • Implementation & Funding –
    • Centrally sponsored funding model, ensuring equitable support across states and UTs.
    • Nagaland was the 1st Legislative Assembly to implement NeVA.
    • Himachal Pradesh Assembly was the 1st to go paperless under a pilot project in 2014, saving ₹5.08 crores annually.
