National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)
- A Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA).
- Aims to digitize and streamline legislative processes across 37 State/UT Legislatures.
- Embodies the vision of ‘One Nation – One Application’ for paperless governance.
- Key Features –
- Hosted on NIC Cloud MeghRaj, ensuring secure, disaster-proof operations.
- Provides e-Books for members, enabling e-Attendance, e-Voting, and digital proceedings.
- Includes features like notices, bulletins, starred/unstarred questions, business lists, calendars, press releases, and live webcasting.
- Allows ministers and members to access parliamentary work via mobile devices.
- Implementation & Funding –
- Centrally sponsored funding model, ensuring equitable support across states and UTs.
- Nagaland was the 1st Legislative Assembly to implement NeVA.
- Himachal Pradesh Assembly was the 1st to go paperless under a pilot project in 2014, saving ₹5.08 crores annually.
