Ramakrishna Paramhamsa:
- 19th century social reformer
- Born in – 1836, West Bengal
- Known as – Gadadhar Chattopadhyaya
- Served as a priest at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple
- Devoted his life to the worship of Goddess Kali
- Studied various religious traditions, including Tantra, Bhakti, Vaishnavism, Advaita Vedanta, Christianity, and Islam.
- Teachings –
- Believed all the religions lead up to a single goal – God
- Didn’t believed in caste differentiations, he even embraced the sceptics
- Disciple – Swami Vivekananda
- Swami Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Mission to spread his teachings and engage in social service.
- Passed away in – 1886
