Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh:
- Freedom fighter, revolutionary, writer, social reformer, and internationalist.
- Born on – 1886, Uttar Pradesh.
- Participated in Gandhi’s campaign in South Africa in 1913.
- Established the Provisional Government of India in Kabul in 1915 during World War I, declaring himself president.
- He declared himself president, and his fellow revolutionary Maulana Barkatullah of Bhopal, prime minister, of the Provisional Government.
- Met with global leaders like Vladimir Lenin to garner support for India’s independence.
- In 1925, he went on a mission to Tibet and met the Dalai Lama.
- Elected as an Independent candidate from Mathura in 1957, defeating Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
- Advocated for the implementation of panchayati raj in free India.
- Launched the World Federation in Berlin in 1929, which later influenced the formation of the United Nations.
- Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1932
