Sucheta Kripalani:
- An Indian politician and freedom fighter
- Born in – 1908, in Haryana.
- Contributions –
- One of the 15 eminent women that were part of the drafting committee.
- A founding member of the All India Mahila Congress (1940)
- Participated in Quit India Movement and worked underground to evade arrest.
- Worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi during the Partition riots and accompanied him to Noakhali in 1946.
- Served as the 1st women Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
- She is the 1st woman to hold that position in any Indian state.
- Served as Lok Sabha MP until 1971.
- Part of several delegations such as the Parliamentary Delegation to Turkey (1954), International Labour Organization (1961), United Nations General Assembly (1949), etc.
- Died in – 1974
