In 2023, the 24th edition of the Hornbill Festival, a lively event showcasing culture, music, and dance, will take place in Nagaland.
It will host a wrestling championship, dance competition, exhibition, food festival among others.
About Hornbill Festival:
- An annual event began in 2000.
- Dubbed as festival of festivals.
- Named after hornbill, a bird that symbolises beauty and grace in Naga folklore and ritual.
- Venue – Kisama (Heritage village of Nagaland)
- Organized by – State Tourism and Art & Culture Departments
- Aim – To revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland and display its extravaganza and traditions.
- Participants – 17 Tribes of Nagaland
