Nagoba Jatara:
- Held in Telangana.
- 2nd biggest tribal festival in India, after Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, also in Telangana.
- Celebrated for 10 days by the Mesaram clan of Gond tribes.
- Performed by tribal people from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh belonging to the Mesaram clan.
- Nagoba is the chief deity of the clan
- Gusadi Dance – A special attraction of the festival, performed by dancers from the Gond tribe
Gonds:
- One of the largest tribal groups in the world.
- Mostly live in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha.
- Staple food consists of millet – kodo and kutki.
- Believe that earth, water and air are ruled by Gods.
- Majorly speak Gondi which is an unwritten language of the Dravidian family.
- Has been notified as a Scheduled Tribe.
