Sandstone replicas of Konark wheels from the Konark Temple have been installed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Cultural Centre and Amrit Udyan.

  • Built during 13th century under the reign of King Narasimhadeva-I.
  • Has 24 spokes that symbolises time (Kalachakra) as well as progress and continuous change.
  • Location – Odisha
  • Built in 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I of Eastern Ganga dynasty
  • Also called Black Pagoda
  • Designed in the shape of a colossal chariot that comprises of –
    • 24 wheels representing 24 hours in a day.
    • 7 horses that symbolize the 7 days of the week.
  • Architecture – Kalinga architecture
  • Declared as UNESCO world heritage site in 1984.
