Chandra Shekhar Azad:
- A great Indian freedom fighter.
- Born in – 1906, in Madhya Pradesh
- Key Contributions –
- Participation in Non-Cooperation Movement
- Disappointed by Gandhi’s suspension of the non-cooperation movement, he started to work closely with revolutionaries, including the legendary Bhagat Singh.
- Joined Hindustan Republican Association (HRA)
- Participated in Kakori Train Robbery in 1925 to take revenge for Lala Lajpat Rai’s murder and shooting of John P. Saunders in Lahore in 1928.
- Reorganised HRA into Hindustan Socialist Republican Association in 1928
- Death – 1931, during a fierce encounter with the British police in Allahabad.
