  • World’s 2nd-longest non-polar glacier (after Fedchenko Glacier in Tajikistan).
  • Nubra River originates from it.
    • It is a tributary of the Shyok (part of the Indus River system).
  • Part of – Ladakh which has now been converted into a Union Territory.
