Valmiki Tiger Reserve:
- Only tiger reserve of Bihar.
- Established in 1976 and declared a Tiger Reserve in 1990.
- Forms the easternmost limit of the Himalayan Terai forests in India.
- Situated in the Gangetic Plains bio-geographic zone of the country,
- The forest of this region has a combination of bhabar and terai tracts.
- Rivers – Gandak, Pandai, Manor, Harha, Masan and Bhapsa.
- Fauna – Tigers, sloth bear, leopard, indian bison, hyena etc
- Vegetation – Mainly Moist mixed deciduous
- Consists of Sal trees, teak, bamboo, semal, and khair etc
