- Economic Activities – The status does not impose restrictions on economic activities, as long as they comply with local laws.
- Global Geoparks Network (GGN) – Membership in the GGN is mandatory, promoting collaboration and networking among geoparks worldwide.
- India’s Status – India does not have any UNESCO Global Geoparks yet.
- Efforts are being made to get recognition for sites like Erra Matti Dibbalu (Red Sand Dunes) in Visakhapatnam
