  • Location – Rajasthan, in the buffer area of Ranthambore tiger reserve and Mukundara Hills tiger reserve.
    • Represents both Vindhyan and Aaravalli elements.
  • River – Mej, tributary of the Chambal River, passes through it.
  • Major tree species – Dhok, Khair, Amaltas
  • Major Animal species – Tigers, Panthers, Sloth Bears
  • Origin – Vindhya Range, Madhya Pradesh
  • States – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Mouth – Empty into Yamuna in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Main tributaries –
    • Left-hand tributaries- Banas and Mej
    • Right hand tributaries – Parbati, Kali Sindh and Shipra
  • Important dams – Gandhi Sagar dam, Rana Pratap Sagar dam and Jawahar Sagar Dam
  • Protected Areas – National Chambal Sanctuary (Gharials), Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve
