    • Mutation in agouti gene – lack of yellow colour.
    • Mutation in tabby genes – lack of black colour

Black Tiger

    • Leucism- recessive gene mutation that causes a lack of pigmentation in the fur, resulting in its unique white coat.
    • Mutation in pheomelanin pigments – lack of the orange colour
  • Indian states – Madhya Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Sunderbans region.
  • IUCN status – Endangered
