Subhadra Scheme

The government of Odisha is set to launch flagship initiative Subhadra scheme.

  • Aim – Financial assistance scheme to transfer ₹10,000 per year to eligible women beneficiaries in Odisha
  • Duration – 5 years, until 2028-29.
  • Funding – ₹10,000 per year, transferred in 2 instalments of ₹5,000 each on Rakhi Purnima (August) and International Women’s Day (March 8).
  • Eligibility – Women aged 21-60
  • Excludes affluent families, government employees, taxpayers, or those receiving ₹1,500+ monthly from other government schemes.
  • e-KYC Mandatory
  • Direct Deposit – Money deposited into Aadhaar-enabled single-holder bank accounts.
  • SUBHADRA Card – ATM-cum-debit card for beneficiaries to facilitate financial transactions and create a sense of identity.
  • Incentives – ₹500 incentive for 100 beneficiaries in each gram panchayat and urban local body area with the highest number of digital transactions.
  • Opt-Out Option – Beneficiaries can opt out through the SUBHADRA Portal if they become ineligible or wish to transfer benefits to others.
