Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana

Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers recently released a report on Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development in the Northeast Region.

  • An extended component of Soil Health Management (SHM) under the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
  • Launched in – 2015
  • Type – Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS).
  • Aim – To promote organic farming and to enhance farmer’s net income per unit of land.
  • Funding pattern – 60:40 by the Central and State Governments respectively.
    • In the case of North Eastern and Himalayan States, Central Assistance is provided in the ratio of 90:10 (Centre: State)
    • For Union Territories, the assistance is 100%.
  • Eligibility – All farmers with less than 2 ha of land are eligible for applying to the scheme.
  • Car Nicobar and Nancowry group of Island is the 1st Large Contiguous Area declared as certified organic.
