Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers recently released a report on Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development in the Northeast Region.
Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY):
- An extended component of Soil Health Management (SHM) under the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
- Launched in – 2015
- Type – Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS).
- Aim – To promote organic farming and to enhance farmer’s net income per unit of land.
- Funding pattern – 60:40 by the Central and State Governments respectively.
- In the case of North Eastern and Himalayan States, Central Assistance is provided in the ratio of 90:10 (Centre: State)
- For Union Territories, the assistance is 100%.
- Eligibility – All farmers with less than 2 ha of land are eligible for applying to the scheme.
- Car Nicobar and Nancowry group of Island is the 1st Large Contiguous Area declared as certified organic.
