Global Unicorn Index:
- Global Unicorn Index – Ranking of the world’s start-ups founded in 2000s.
- Released by – Hurun Research Institute
- Unicorns – Privately held, venture-capital backed startups that have reached a value of $1 billion.
Key findings of Global Unicorn Index 2024:
- The number of startups in India with a valuation of over $1 billion has dropped for the first time in 4 years
- Despite the decline, India continues to be the 3rd largest hub for unicorns worldwide after USA and China
- India lacks unicorns in Aerospace or SpaceTech sector.
- Despite the drop in the number of Indian unicorns, there have been some new additions to the list, such as the artificial intelligence platform
