Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024

Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024 launched to boost green mobility and EV manufacturing in the country.

  • Aim – To provide the necessary support for developing and manufacturing EVs in India.
  • Launched in – March 2024.
  • Launched by – Ministry of Heavy Industries.
  • Beneficiaries – Two-wheeler EVs, three-wheeler EVs, e-rickshaws, e-carts.
  • Implementation Period – 1 April 2024 – 31 July 2024.
  • Objective – To improve sales of 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler electric vehicles.
  • Eligibility – Must be registered under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
  • Subsidies – Up to Rs. 10,000 for each 2-wheeler EV, up to Rs. 25,000 for each small 3-wheeler EV, and up to Rs. 50,000 for each large 3-wheeler EV.
  • Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) – A component under this scheme to encourage domestic manufacturing and strengthen the EV supply chain.
