Mobile App developed under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana for quick reporting of Fish Diseases and timely scientific advice to aqua-farmers.
About “Report Fish Disease” App:
- Aim – To allow aqua-farmers to report disease cases in finfish, shrimps, and molluscs.
- Launched by – Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
- Central platform connecting fish farmers, field-level officers, and fish health experts.
About Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana:
- A flagship scheme for focused and sustainable development of fisheries sectoras a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
- Aim –
- To adopt ‘Cluster or Area-based Approaches’ and create fisheries clusters
- To bring about a “Blue Revolution” in India’s fisheries sector
- Objectives –
- Enhancing fish production
- Increasing fisheries export earnings
- Doubling of incomes of fishers and fish farmers
- Reducing post-harvest losses and generation of employment opportunities
- Ministry –Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
- Investment – ₹20,050 crore for a period of 5 years (highest ever in the fisheries)
- Implemented as Central Sector Scheme and Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
