Union Finance Minister announced National Manufacturing Mission during the Union Budget 2025-26 presentation.
National Manufacturing Mission:
- Purpose – To support small, medium, and large industries as part of the “Make in India” initiative.
- Make in India Initiative – Launched in 2014, aiming to make India a global hub for design and manufacturing.
- Key Focus Areas –
- Ease & Cost of Doing Business: Simplifying processes and reducing expenses.
- Upskilling for In-Demand Jobs: Enhancing skills for current job market demands.
- Support for MSMEs: Providing assistance and resources for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- Availability of Technology: Ensuring access to advanced technologies.
- Quality Products: Promoting the production of high-quality goods.
- The Mission will also support Clean Tech manufacturing.
- Clean Tech Manufacturing –
- For supporting clean technology manufacturing to align with India’s sustainable development goals.
- Goals – Enhance domestic value addition and create ecosystems for manufacturing solar PV cells, EV batteries, motors and controllers, electrolyzers, wind turbines, very high voltage transmission equipment, and grid-scale batteries.
