Atal Innovation Mission (AIM):
- Launched in – 2016
- Implementing Agency – NITI Aayog
- Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across India.
- Monitored and managed systematically using real-time MIS systems and dynamic dashboards.
Key Components:
- Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) – To foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds.
- Target Group – Students from Class 6 to 12.
- Features – Equipped with tools and technologies like 3D printers, robotics, IoT, and miniaturized electronics.
- Atal Incubation Centres (AICs) – To support start-ups and entrepreneurs.
- Atal New India Challenges (ANICs) – To encourage innovative solutions to address national and societal challenges.
- Focus Areas – Waste management, water resources, health, housing, etc.
- Mentor India Campaign – To engage leaders and experts to mentor students and start-ups.
- Atal Community Innovation Centres (ACICs) – To promote innovation in underserved and unserved regions.
- ARISE (Atal Research and Innovation for Small Enterprises) – To stimulate innovation in MSMEs and start-ups.
