Key highlights

  • Digital India :The Prime Minister highlighted the remarkable transformation in India’s digital landscape. He underscored

the Nation’s rapid progress towards 5G rollout and also outlined the ambitious goal of advancing towards 6G technology.

  • Women Empowerment: PM underlined the importance of women-led development and how it is essential to take the country forward. India has the maximum number of women pilots in the civil aviation sector. Women scientists are also leading the Chandrayaan Mission.
  • Corruption, Nepotism and Appeasement:Prime Minister asserted that the politics of appeasement had caused significant damage to social justice. He emphasized the nation’s determination to adopt a zero-tolerance stance towards all forms of corruption.
  • 5th largest economy:Prime Minister Modi attributed the rise of India from 10th to 5th largest economy in the world to the efforts of 140 crore people of India.
  • Subsidy of Rs.10 lakh crore for providing cheaper Urea to farmers was also announced.

Schemes mentioned in the speech

Vishwakarma Yojana

  • It is for barbers and goldsmiths with an initial spending of Rs. 13,000-15,000 crore. It is planned to benefit individuals skilled in traditional craftsmanship.

Vibrant Villages’ scheme.

  • Government has approved Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on 15th February,2023 for comprehensive development of the select villages in 46 blocks in 19 districts of abutting northern border in the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and UT of Ladakh.
  • The programme envisages focused areas of interventions in the select villages for creation of opportunities for livelihood generation through promotion of tourism & cultural heritage, skill development & entrepreneurship and development of cooperative societies including agriculture/horticulture, cultivation of medicinal plants/herbs etc

Bharat 6G Alliance

  • Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA) is a collaborative platform consisting of public and private companies, academia, research institutions, and standards development organizations.
  • According to the government, Bharat 6G Alliance will forge coalitions and synergies with other 6G Global Alliances.
  • The primary objective of it is to understand the business and societal needs of 6G beyond technical requirements, foster consensus on these needs, and promote high-impact open research and development (R&D) initiatives.
  • Bharat 6G Alliance aims to bring together Indian startups, companies, and the manufacturing ecosystem to establish consortia that drive the design, development and deployment of 6G technologies in India.

‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme

  •  It is a skill development training  announced by the PM to cover two crore women that aims to encourage them to start micro-enterprises.

PM SVANidhi scheme

  • The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the scheme PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) to empower Street Vendors by not only extending loans to them, but also for their holistic development and economic upliftment.
  • The scheme intends to facilitate collateral free working capital loans of up to INR10,000/- of one-year tenure, to approximately 50 lakh street vendors, to help resume their businesses in the urban areas, including surrounding peri-urban/rural areas.

Bharatmala

  • Bharatmala is a mega project of the Indian government to develop a network of high-speed roads and highways across the country. It aims to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and boost economic growth.

Parvatmala

  • It is a national programme for developing ropeways in the mountainous regions of India. The programme aims to use ropeways as a green and efficient way of connecting the hilly areas, instead of building roads that can harm the environment .

Sagarmala

  • The Sagarmala Programme is an initiative launched by the Indian Government to improve the efficiency of the country’s logistics sector.
  • The aim of the program is to tap into the potential of India’s waterways and coastline, in order to reduce the infrastructure investments needed to achieve its goals.

One Rank One Pension

  • Under the One Rank One Pension scheme or OROP scheme, uniform pension is to be paid to armed forces personnel retiring at the same rank with the same length of service, regardless of when they completed their service or retired.

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana

  • Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.
  •  PMBJP stores have been set up to provide generic drugs, which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana

  • Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) is a scheme launched in 2015 for providing loans up to 10 lakh to the non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises.
  • These loans are classified as MUDRA loans under PMMY. These loans are given by Commercial Banks, RRBs, Small Finance Banks, MFIs and NBFCs.

The concept of ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26 in Glasgow on 1st November 2021, calling upon the global community of individuals and institutions to drive LiFE as an international mass movement towards “mindful and deliberate utilization, instead of mindless and destructive consumption” to protect and preserve the environment.
