Subika Painting facing a near extinction threat due to lack of awareness.

  • Associated with – Meitei community in Manipur
  • Significance – An indigenous painting style in use since the 18th or 19th century.
  • 6 surviving manuscripts of Subika – Subika, Subika Achouba, Subika Laishaba, Subika Choudit, Subika Cheithil and Thengrakhel Subika.

James Webb Space Telescope observed 19 nearby galaxies as part of its PHANGS program.

  • PHANGS – A long-term project that uses telescopes to observe nearby galaxies.
  • Supported by – over 150 astronomers worldwide.
  • Telescopes Involved – Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA), Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope and Very Large Telescope

  • Biosolids – A semisolid, nutrient-rich product that comes from the wastewater treatment process.
  • Formation – Result of sewage sludge that has been treated to reduce pathogens and volatile organic matter.
  • Significance – Rich in plant nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and organic carbon.
  • Usages – As soil conditioner and fertilizer
