Kerala introduces Kairali AI Chip, the first-of-its-kind to be designed in Kerala

- Significance – Kerala’s 1st silicon-proven artificial intelligence (AI) chip

Hague Apostille Convention, 1961
Allahabad High Court mandates that India must accept foreign apostille-authenticated documents.
- Aim – To simplify the global circulation of public documents.
- Contracting parties – Issue an Apostille certificate to authenticate a document’s origin, allowing it to be presented abroad to another Contracting Party.
- Non-member countries – Require extra certification from the State of origin for document acceptance
- India – member of the Apostille Convention
Bottom Trawling
A recent study found that Bottom trawling has released 8-10 bntonnes of CO2 from 1996-2020.
- Bottom trawling – Fishing method involving dragging heavy nets across the sea floor
- Issues – Depletes marine organisms, causing a significant decline in fish production and damage the natural seafloor.
- Important Initiatives – India and Sri Lanka, in 2016, agreed to “expedite the transition towards ending this practice in Palk Strait.
- Sri Lanka banned bottom trawling in 2017
