2nd Global Amphibian Assessment – Findings

The report is an analysis of the second Global Amphibian Assessment conducted by the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group’s Red List Authority.

  • 41% of amphibians are threatened with extinction.
  • Heaviest concentrations of threatened amphibians – Caribbean islands, Mexico and Central America, the tropical Andes region, India, Sri Lanka, etc.
  • From 2006 to 2022, the number of amphibian species in India nearly doubled.

Typhoon Koinu

China warned of big waves, heavy rain and strong wind.
