75/25 initiative has provided treatment for hypertension to 42.01 million individuals and treatment for diabetes to 25.27 million individuals.

  • An initiative to provide standardized care to 75 million individuals living with hypertension and diabetes
  • Implemented through – Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
  • Utilizes the strategies under National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).

Lok Sabha Passed the Bills of Lading Bill, 2025.

  • Aims to replace the colonial-era Indian Bills of Lading Act, 1856.
  • Empowers the Central Government to issue implementation directives.
  • Bill of Lading includes details such as the type, quantity, and condition of the goods being transported.
    • It ensures legal protection and clarity in shipping transactions, making it an essential document for international trade

India has supported Mauritius in its stance on sovereignty over Chagos archipelago.

  • A group of atolls comprising 58 islands, located in Indian Ocean.
  • Has been under British control since 1814 and kept under British control even after Mauritius’s independence in 1968.
  • In 2024, UK and Mauritius signed an agreement to return sovereignty
  • Its largest atoll – Diego Garcia – hosts a major US military base

Recently theJadayaswamy Festival was celebrated by the Badagas of Nilgiris.

  • An important religious celebration of the Badagas community
  • The Badagas are the largest indigenous community in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has announced the UN80 Initiative aimed at improving efficiencies at the 80-year-old world organisation and making it more cost-effective.

  • Purpose – To improve efficiencies, and make the UN more effective in addressing global challenges like shrinking resources, a liquidity crisis, and increasing global uncertainty.
  • 3 main areas –
    • Efficiency Improvements: Rapid identification of efficiencies in UN operations.
    • Streamlining processes to reduce costs and improve effectiveness.
    • Mandate Review: Thorough review of all mandates given to the UN by member states.
