Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with NITI Aayog launched Swavalambini.
- Entrepreneurship Programme for Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
- Target beneficiaries- Female students in select Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
- Provides 6 months of mentorship to help participants translate their ideas into sustainable prospects
Dashavatar Theatre
Recently, Dashavatar performances in Maharashtra started.
- Traditional theatre form throwing light on the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu
- Practiced in – Maharashtra and Goa
- Musical instruments – a paddle harmonium, tabla and zanj (cymbals).
Algorithmic Trading
SEBI proposed Retail Algo Trading Framework.
- Automates buy/sell orders using preset conditions for precise execution.
- Erstwhile, only institutional investors were allowed to use it t via Direct Market Access (DMA).
- Trading Limits – Retail traders must follow exchange-set limits (yet to be decided).
- Registration – Algo providers are not regulated by SEBI, but must register with exchanges and partner with a broker to sell algos.
SARAT
Ministry of Earth Sciences launched SARAT (Search and Rescue Aid Tool) Version 2
- A satellite-based distress alert system aiding vessels, aircraft, and individuals in remote or high-risk areas at sea.
- Purpose – To enhance search-and-rescue efficiency in the Indian Ocean.
- Developed by – ESSO-INCOIS under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) as part of the Make in India initiative.
Beggar Thy Neighbour Policy
US imposed tariffs on imports from China, Canada and Mexico as part of Beggar-thy-neighbour policy.
- A protectionist strategy that involves measures like trade barriers, currency devaluation, and subsidies, to improve its own economic situation at the expense of other nations.
