PM Internship Scheme

Union Government launched the PM Internship Scheme.

  • Ministry – Ministry of Corporate Affairs
  • Objective – Providing internship opportunities to 1 crore youth in the top 500 companies over 5 years
  • Duration of internship – 12 months.
  • Eligibility Criteria –
    • Must be an Indian citizen.
    • Aged between 21-24 years.
  • Stipend and Benefits –
    • Monthly stipend of ₹4,500 from the central government via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
    • Additional ₹500 from the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund.
    • Insurance coverage under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
  • Exclusions
    • Individuals engaged in full-time employment
    • Individuals from families with government jobs.
    • Post-graduates.
    • Graduates from premier institutes (IIT, IIM, IISER) and those with CA or CMA qualifications.
    • Households with an income of ₹8 lakh or more in 2023-24.
