The Prime Minister inaugurated the redeveloped Kochrab ashram
Kochrab Ashram:
- Location – Kochrab village on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat
- Founded by – Mahatma Gandhi in 1915
- Gandhi received it from his fellow lawyer and colleague, Jeevanlal Desai.
- Significance – 1st ashram built by Gandhi following his return to India from South Africa
- Also called – Satyagraha Ashram
- Architecture – Colonial-style building with a white-washed facade.
- Redeveloped under – Gandhi Ashram Memorial and Precinct Development project
